Working to End Violence Against Women and Girls

The Vavengers is a survivor and women-led movement committed to ending Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and intersecting Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).

Campaign

We campaign so institutions recognise FGM, forced marriage and acts of trafficking as forms of violence and have the skills and resources to actively enforce legislation and provide appropriate care and support.

Convene

We convene safe spaces to create a common ground between survivors, communities and national & global platforms to collectively influence policy and decision-making, working towards a shared goal together.

Connect

We connect women to safe, caring and survivor-centric services they need so that vulnerable women and girls can safeguard themselves, their children and communities around them from FGM, and intersecting violence.

We unite survivors, activists, members of the public, and professionals across the public & private sectors. We challenge and dismantle barriers that stand in the way of ending FGM and intersecting violence. We are clear that FGM is a violation of human rights, a form of sexual violence, child abuse and modern slavery. We cannot achieve our mission without ending this wider cycle of violence.
