Too often Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) is excused by putting it down to culture, but abuse is not culture. Through Her Eyes is an immersive dinner series that showcases the rich reality of cultures that are often linked to FGM/C.
Volume 1 was a celebration of Somalia, hosted by our co-founder Hoda Ali and community ambassador Shamsa Araweelo.
Food that tells a story…
The evening’s menu was created to reflect Hoda, Shamsa and our other community partner Warda’s favourite Somali foods. With each of these memories came a beautiful story and our creative team worked them into poems and illustrated prints that attendees could take away, below.
