The Vavengers Safe Space in central London – launch

Last week (May) we launched our new safe space by filling it with friends and partners – old and new!

The special evening celebrated everything The Vavengers does best. Lawyers, funders and the police alongside campaigners, actors, and poets – united together in ending Violence Against Women and Girls and showing support for The Vavengers.

Because everyone has a part to play in this mission.

This new space is the result of many people negotiating our place in central London and generous donations of furniture, time, and skills. The Vavengers events and pop-up support hubs has proven to us the importance of physical spaces for building meaningful connections and survivors’ confidence. Our new safe space (some might call it an office, but it’s much more than that) is already a hub for anyone in our community. People come to work, create, meet, discuss, get support or give it. The online world is booming, but nothing compares to in-person connections and we feel incredibly lucky to have a space of our own to cultivate these.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this space a reality.

Look out for our window (below) if you’re ever passing from London Bridge to Liverpool Street!
