Naimah Hassan named Advocacy Trustee for The Vavengers Board
Naimah Hassan joins The Vavengers Board of Trustees as an Advocacy Trustee. Naimah joins as The Vavengers expands the board with a diverse skillset, bringing her ongoing global advocacy skills to the table. Naimah’s work delivers on the ground convening support in Africa to frontline anti-GBV activists while also creating global partnerships in the space.
The Board of Trustees are honoured by this new appointment and Chair Mabel Evans said: “Naimah’s expertise in global advocacy space as well as her impressive track record of work in Africa will be a great treasure for The Vavengers’ board as we welcome new trustees. Naimah will be a great support in government and global funder relationship management while helping us strategise our next phase.”

Naimah is a passionate campaigner, disruptor, and policy advocate in international development, communications, and media. With over 16 years of experience, she has been dedicated to supporting community-led initiatives, fostering innovations, and advancing education. Naimah embodies the change she strives to create, continuously learning, unlearning, and relearning to promote growth, respect, and equality for all. As co-founder of the Global Media Campaign (GMC) and Africa Women Rights Advocates (AWRA), she champions women-led movements and sustainable advocacy. Driven by a deep curiosity for authentic storytelling, Naimah empowers individuals to share their stories in their own voices while uplifting positive narratives. She is also an international trainer and a sought-after speaker, including on the TED stage in 2019.
