The Vavengers launched the world’s first global health & legal report on FGM at the UN

The Vavengers is delighted to announce a groundbreaking report, available to everyone on our website. We launched the world’s first global health & legal report on FGM with a convening at the United Nations Headquarters during General Assembly 80th session. This launch was in partnership with our convening partner AWRA (African Women’s Rights Advocates) and we hosted colleagues from government agencies, non-profits working in women and children’s space, as well as legal and corporate partners.

The health & legal landscape report was made possible by our pro bono legal partners King & Spalding and WilmerHale. We also commissioned Oliver Wyman to conduct an economic impact report and all together, the three firms donated over £5million billable hours to make this incredible work happen. We awarded our pro bono partners with awards presented by our keynote speaker Tracy Ifeachor.
